Dr. John Bonagura

John is a graduate of Ohio State University, was a rotating intern at the Animal Medical Center in New York, and completed residencies and specialty board certifications in Cardiology & Internal Medicine at Ohio State. For most of his career, John was Head of Cardiology & Interventional Medicine at Ohio State, where he achieved the rank of tenured Professor and is currently Professor Emeritus. 
Dr. Bonagura was visiting research fellow at Edinburgh University, Scotland and completed a five-year term as the Gilbreath-McLorn Endowed Professor of Veterinary Cardiology at the University of Missouri before rejoining the faculty at Ohio State in 2001. John moved to the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. 
John served a three-year term as President of the specialty of Cardiology and member of the ACVIM Board. He is the long-time Editor of Kirk's Current Veterinary Therapy and co-author of Colour Atlas of Veterinary Cardiology and the recently published Ware: Cardiovascular Diseases in Companion Animals. Dr. Bonagura was previously Associate Editor (Cardiology) for the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine and is currently an editorial board member of the Journal of Veterinary Cardiology and American Society of Echocardiography CASE. He has written or co-authored over 225 scientific publications and book chapters. Dr. Bonagura's major clinical interests include echocardiography, congenital heart disease, and equine cardiology. John is a recipient of multiple Norden/Zoetis Distinguished Teaching Awards, and has been named a campus-wide Distinguished Teacher at the Ohio State University. Additional honors include the Bourgelat award of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association, Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Barcelona, Kirk Lifetime Achievement Award from ACVIM, Faculty Achievement Award of the AAVC, and distinguished Alumnus awards from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the Animal Medical Center.

Dr. Elodie Huguet

Elodie grew up in France before moving to South Carolina in 2001. She obtained her veterinary degree at the University of Georgia and pursued her radiology interest with a one-year internship at Virginia Equine Imaging in Middleburg, VA.  She then completed a small animal rotating internship at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Louisville, KY followed by a radiology internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas in North Carolina. Following the completion of her radiology internship, Elodie accepted a radiology residency at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas and then joined the UF diagnostic imaging team in 2019 to complete her residency. Elodie is now excited to be working part time as a clinical assistant professor of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Florida and to be part of the IDEXX teleradiology team. When not working, Elodie is an active long-distance runner and enjoy spending time with her dog Arya, traveling and kayaking the Florida springs. Elodie also enjoy oil painting and has a passion for horses. She competes her horse, Stan, in the sport of dressage.
